You Got It

Under rated king of cool Roy Orbison celebrates his birthday in style with the Beatles and friends.

The Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club has a solid back bone of hard blues, but veers toward indy rock with their casual lyricism. I am always looking for a new band to blow my hair back like the Black Keys once did, and BRMC has promise.

Yukon blonde sits somewhere between My Morning Jacket and The Fleet Foxes. Their music is very catchy and style is tight in form. The guys hail from Canada and have just put out a self titled album.

Death in Vegas became popular for their track "Girls" on the Lost in Translation soundtrack. They experiment with a lot of music types and can only be categorized as indie. This song titled Scorpio Rising has a good rock feel to it.

And now to my man! Roy Orbison is overwhelmingly known for his song Pretty Woman, but as an artist he experimented with middle eastern sounds in his song Sharadoba and was infinitely cool. He was one of the first to wear sunglasses whenever in public. This video is very entertaining. Note the hesitant crowd slowly getting into it.

And if that is too old school for you, I added this remix of another one of his songs "In Dreams". It is done up in a trance pop style.
