The Canon Logic is a band that a few members of The Untzological Society know very well. The lead singer, Tim Kiely, is a personal friend and a wonderful musician. Their music is pure Americana rock/pop and you can't help but smile when listening to their flagship track, Avenue of Criminals. This track was released with their new album, FM Arcade, last Friday. I must admit, being an insider, I've had the album for a few months now and it is truly phenomenal. It brings you to a place in your mind that feels eerily familiar, but at the same time, fresh and new.

This next tasty jam is classic, dreamy techno. It has a great acoustic quality with the featured grand piano, but through heavy synth and a stank funk bass line, it still maintains that disco love.
At the beginning, this song doesn't seem to have much promise. Almost too trance/house. However, as the refrain kicks in, a wonderful thing happens: Passion Pit makes sweet, sweet love to Marina, and then to the Diamonds. Some may like this song, some may not, but I think it's untztastic.
Let the soul of this next track seep down to your bones. This LA based band captures a wonderful classic sound that I haven't heard from a new band in a while.
I really dislike both Radiohead and Kanye West. However, as Xaphoon Jones, the brains behind the beats of Chiddy Bang, puts his badass hip-hop twist on them, the result is nothing but gold.
I've been digging this new track by The Gorillaz, but speaking of Chiddy Bang, the Philly duo took a good song and made a jam. ELECTRIC IS THE NIGHT!
Last, but certainly not least, I wanted to throw another Freelance Whales jam your way. Not only am I friends with one of the members, but I have seen these guys twice now and they have truly become one of my favorite bands in recent memory. Their music is sultry and powerful. Listen to this song, close your eyes, and immediately feel your inner self transported to that perfect place in your mind where no one can take away your feelings of pure joy.
Please purchase their album and go see them live. Who knows, maybe you'll be one of the lucky few to catch them in the New York City subway.
