Seriously cannot wait for The Golden Filter to drop their full length album Voluspa in April, This shit needs to leak NOW. It's has been a long time coming and every song the NYC disco crew has put out since last winter has been absolute fire. Here’s a demo of “Moonlight Fantasy” which is set to feature on the album. This is a slow motion, burner with all of the driving synths and disco stabs that we’ve come to expect from these geniuses.
“Moonlight Fantasy (Demo)” – The Golden Filter
Really though there is no way to get enough of these guys, here’s their remix of “Please Don’t Touch” by Polly Scattergood, who sounds surprisingly like their regular vocalist…Download this now and listen to it when you’re dancing, blinded by smoke and lights in the fiendish hours of the night.
“Please Don’t Touch (The Golden Filter Pop Mix)” – Polly Scattergood
Next up is a new song from Jai Paul, “BTSTU” is equal parts heavy synth, delicate pop and dreamy vox. Seriously, does a song need more ingredients than that? The fragile falsetto echos behind the bedroom electro/hip-hop/downtempo beat perfectly. This may be Tweezy’s new favorite song.
Here is a great track from disco-dub favorites The Emergency. This song sounds like it was beamed from space. Not quite dancefloor material, but definitely something that you want to keep in your rotation.
“The Fire In You” – The Emergency
Over the weekend we posted Mathemagic’s remix of “Big Love” by CFCF. It’s a fantastic track that all should download if you haven’t already. CFCF’s LP Continent is full of ambient disco faves, but his older remixes are as equally solid as newer tracks. Scope these two remixes by him, they are sure to please fans of disco, downtempp electro, dancing, weekends, etc. CFCF brings the funk on his mix of “Midas Touch” by Midnight Star.
