Das Roots

Terry Richardson's work for the Pirelli spring calendar in 2010. Terry has certainly pushed the envelope in photography, and received much acclaim for his work for American Apparel. Here is one of the more PG shots from the Italian tire companies calendar. Viva la Italia.

I have a great deal of respect for The Roots. They have maintained relevancy for more than a few decades, and they can put on just as good of a rock show as they do hip hop. I have seen them twice in concert, and have been blown away each time.

Recently the Roots teamed up with ex McKinsey consultant (fact of the day) John Legend. Legend's soulful voice combined with The Roots' upbeat tempos provides for a very engaging body of work.

Here is a cover one the most acclaimed bands of the year Arcade Fire. Listen to it the whole way through for the instrumental ending.

The Roots Featuring John Legend - Wake Up (Arcade Fire Cover)

This next song has a hard rock edge similar to what the Black Keys were able to produce when they teamed up with several hip hop artists for Blac Rocc.

The Roots - How I got Over ft. Dice Raw

Enjoy and have a great week.
