I thought the Whitest Boy alive was on their on in the realm of electro funk, but the group Failed Novelist has ventured into their territory with a few choice singles. Their sound has a glossy 70s feel that fits well for those after hours parties where you lose all the cares in the world.
Pay close attention to their subtle use of synthesizers and clean guitar riffs.
I’ll be keeping tabs on more of their stuff to come, but for now check out these two very fine songs.
Failed Novelist – Love Like a Knife
Failed Novelist – Tangled
Bonus
I missed out on Fool’s Gold in Central Park this summer, but I am hoping to see them live some time soon. This Memory Tapes remix of Nadine has three very separate movements. It is quite an excellent listen.
